Day 3 - Coorong Cruise Part 3
The next leg of the journey involved some rough seas.




There was more though. More wildlife. This time, not birds!


That's a seal, in case you couldn't make it out.

Anyway, we beached the ship again, and made our way across the sand dunes:

It was pretty windy:

In fact, it was incredibly windy:

We saw the places where the indigenous Ngarrindjeri people threw away millions of shells:

If the camera seems a little shaky, that's not only because I didn't have a tripod. The wind was strong enough to blow me off balance even when I was standing still.

It was a fantastic day. An awe-inspiring day. These photos really cannot convey the sheer scope of the Coorong. Check out that Google Maps link again. That whole peninsula is the Coorong, and it's all like this. It would be great to do this again some time when there was not as much wind. But you can't have everything.
