I helped lilysea move into her new flat today. Because I have the huge land cruiser and giant cage trailer, I can take a lot of the large heavy furniture. It certainly was an interesting exercise manhandling her fridge up the stairs. But Victor was there to help, so apart from anything else it was a fun day.

Man, I love helping friends out.

I've been feeling depressed. Please, F-list, do your best to validate my existence.

I will always remember Noel, even though I met him only a handful of times.

My best memory of him, he wasn't even there.

It was at a Smithfield party - in the "old days" of the Smithfield party. We had perhaps sixty people crowded into the lounge room, and we were hosting a "Naughty But Nice" party. It's like a tupperware party, but for lingerie and sex toys.

Robyn (the presenter) was showing various things, but at one point she wordlessly held up this... okay, there's no way to put this tastefully... huge black penis-shaped dildo. Paul the Elder immediately shouted out "NOEL!!!!" and the room completely dissolved into hysterical laughter.

He was larger-than-life, in more ways than just the obvious. Above all, he was friendly and charismatic. He was a good Friend Of Simthfield.

IT'S politas' BIRTHDAY!!

A good friend of mine, Daniel Miller, is a computer animator, and a teacher of computer animation. He dropped me a line yesterday to tell me that one of his animated movies, The Story of Ned, has made it into the top 16 finalists at Tropfest this year, and will be shown around Australia this Sunday. In Canberra, this will be from 5pm at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park.

Also, Dan will be on Stateline ABC at 7:30 on Friday and 12:00 on Saturday.
